Who Are We?
McDonald & Buist Ltd are a nationwide plumbing and heating company located in the centre of Scotland, With over 20 years of experience in the industry.
We offer domestic and commercial gas servicing and installations to Gas Safe standards including maintenance, installations and issue of landlord gas safety certificates. This includes LPG, Solid Fuel and natural gas. We are accomplished in oil boiler servicing and installation and are an OFTEC registered business.
McDonald & Buist are MCS registered for renewable technologies in:
- Air Source Heat Pumps
- Ground Source Heat Pumps
- Solar Thermal Systems
- Biomass Systems
McDonald & Buist offer complete all-trade bathroom installations from design to completion. We practice all areas of Lead work to British Lead Association Standards, offer Cast Iron drainage, rain water systems and are experienced in copper roof work.

We employed McDonald and Buist Ltd to do the plumbing and heating for our contract and were well pleased with the result. The contract was complex and very compressed giving only six months for stripping out at least half of a 10 bedroom part Georgian, part Victorian Lodge, renewing all plumbing and heating including a completely new boiler room and water storage and filtration system in two outbuildings and creating nine new bathrooms. The job was completed on time and within budget. We found Gavin and his team really good to work with and they have cheerfully returned for the small amount of snagging that was necessary.

My husband and I renovated our Castle in Angus over a couple of years. It was a significant and substantial renovation. We used McDonald and Buist Ltd for all our plumbing and heating works. Not only did we find the company reliable and honest they completed the work with efficiency and good grace and did an excellent job. When we started the project there was one bathroom and a pitiful heating system, now we have fourteen bathrooms and a state of the art heating system which we were rather frightened of to start with as we thought it was going to be complicated but it wasn’t at all. We love it. Also McDonald and Buist have been exceptional in as far as after care goes.
